Goodies from the Gorge is located 5.82 kms from Cromwell on SH6 heading to Queenstown.
We are tucked away in a microclimate at the start of the Kawarau Gorge and produce a range of organically grown fruit and vegetables.
The taste of our produce is very special as we grow in rich alluvial quartz soils supplemented by our own organic compost. We only rarely have to use organic preparations for insects or disease as we are isolated from contamination from any other growers.
We are a seasonal grower but in spite of the very cold winters we grow broad beans, garlic, onions and brassicas almost all year round. Our summers are exceptionally hot.
The range of vegetables covers asparagus, potatoes, peas , beans, brassicas, onions, beets and squash plus specialty items for our clients. We grow outdoors up to 12 varieties of tomatoes, plus peppers, corn and root vegetables.
Our soft fruits include blueberries, raspberries, gooseberries, boysenberries, blackberries, red, white and black currants. We also have frozen quantities of some items during the off-season. In addition we have stone and pip fruits including peaches, nectarines, apricots, cherries, plums, apples and figs.
Our Executive Chef clients work with our produce at the very best lodges and fine dining restaurants and we have long associations with many of these clients.
Our produce is also to be found at The Mediterranean Market in Queenstown under our brand name – Goodies form the Gorge.
You will find us at Farmers Markets in Wanaka on a Thursday 4 – 6pm, Queenstown St Pauls Church on Saturday 9 -12, and Old Cromwell on Sunday 9 – 1pm, from October- March depending on the location.
You are also welcome to visit us at our location and see where and how we grow our range of produce. We will endeavour to grow to specific requirements.
We are a small but successful grower and supported by many great well known celebrity chefs including Annabel Langbein, Ben Batterbury, Simon Gault, Josh Emett, and the award winning lodges of Blanket Bay and Matakauri Lodge.
